Tip of the Day

  • Tynt.com - What's being copied from your site? This site offers a no-charge service that will put a tag line with your Web site link onto anything copied from your site. It also keeps track of what is being copied. All it requires is putting a line of code on each of your site's pages.

  • WhoShouldIFollow.com - Enter your Twitter user name, and it will suggest people you might want to follow. Really the best tool for finding people to follow on Twitter.

  • Facebook Grader - If you're on Facebook, find out how well your profile stacks up against the profiles of millions of other Facebook users.
  • I recently learned about FeedFlares at Feedburner, which allows you to add interactivity at the end of every post delivered in feeds. There is a catalog of FeedFlares that you can access through Feedburner and includes options for readers to add posts to Twitter, Facebook, Blogroll, Blogs, Technorati, Email, and many more.
  • BUDurl.com - Use this program to shrink long URLs and get tracking information on your link. Great for promotions in Twitter and other social sites. Allows you to track traffic to the landing page through the link you assign.
  • TellAFriend.com - They call themselves a "social twist service". Replace your standard social bookmarking buttons with a Tell-a-Friend button. More effective for sharing and promoting your content.
  • Ebates.com - Sign up for free today - it only takes 15 seconds and you'll get a $5 sign up bonus (I'll get one too!). Then you can shop online and earn money back. I earned 15% cash back on my $3 per $25 gift certificate purchase at Restaurant.com.
  • Want a cool picture like member Amy Starr Allen? She suggests visiting http://www.picnik.com/. Picnik makes your photos fabulous with easy to use yet powerful editing tools. Tweak to your heart’s content, then get creative with oodles of effects, fonts, shapes, and frames.

Testimonials

"I am so happy to write a recommendation for Traci. Her support group for mom entrepreneurs is SOLID. She gets the cream of the crop-- moms who run varied businesses of all types and discuss interesting topics. She tends to attract those mom entrepreneurs who are serious about their businesses and about learning more and continuing to expand and explore. I'm VERY MUCH enjoying being a part of the group. Traci is a solid leader who provides opportunities for us to network with each other and participate in advertising co-op opportunities. Thanks Traci!"
-Heather Price, Distributor at Send Out Cards, Sales Director at Mary Kay Cosmetics

"Traci is one of those unique individuals who has found the perfect match of her expertise and passion. Since I have joined The Mom Entrepreneur Support Group she founded and facilitates, I have been awed by her dedication to supporting other mom entrepreneurs. She shares her professional skills and advice as well as her authentic "pay it forward" attitude with all the members. She is the consummate professional and one heck of a mom! I'm learning so much from being part of her group."
-Lara Galloway, Owner, Take Aim Coaching LLC

“The Mom Entrepreneur Support Group is a great place for busy mom entrepreneurs to gather, get/give advice, share information and resources, offer support and network. It is a diverse group of women who are all trying to reach the same goal–grow a business, support a household and raise a family–all while trying to keep their sanity! I’ve gotten lots of great information and resources from the other women in the group.”
-Michelle Pratt-Lienhart, President, Just Be Products, LLC
Welcome
Welcome to The Mom Entrepreneur Support Group

The Mom Entrepreneur Online Support Group, established on June 25, 2008, offers tips, advice and resources for balancing motherhood and running a company.

The group was first formed in Google Groups and then moved to its new home in January 2010. Since the beginning, the group has hosted almost 8,000 discussions. Each member has benefited in some way and the testimonials throughout the site are proof of this. In addition, the group is strictly moderated. A list of guidelines has been established in order to keep members on track with the mission of the group. Members agree this is the best format.

Testimonials for the new site:

"I love the feel of the new site. I have so many new friends that I have met through this group, and I love the chat feature to keep in touch in "real time". I also love the bookstore area so I can keep my mom entrepreneur book list up to date. Thanks!"
-Rebecca Buscemi, Owner, The Savvy Women's Business Solution

"I find the site user friendly and well laid out. I feel more connected with the other members because their profiles are easily accessible...it is, in a way, more intimate. I will spend more time on the site because of the personal nature it. I love that there is a place where other mom entrepreneurs are experiencing similar triumphs and set backs. I need that support as I launch my new company. It is absolutely worth the monthly fee."
-Shelagh Cummins, Owner, Practical Mum

"Wow, this new site is quite sophisticated - much like our own little Facebook. I was initially skeptical of paid membership, but because I believe this support group has helped launch my business into uncharted territory, I promised I would give it a try. I am impressed with what I see so far and look forward to making many more friends on the new TME support group site!"
-Karen Sroka, Owner, My Scratch off Labels

"You will love this new site. It is an organized place for us to meet and talk in "real time" via instant messaging and chat rooms. It's like our own private Facebook. Emails are also more organized by Mom and Entrepreneur categories."
-Dara Blaker, Owner, Mighty Miracle Mist

"This site is very well done and very professional. I love that everything, including discussions, is in one place."
-Polly Schlafhauser, Owner, Families with Purpose
