Tip of the Day

  • Thanks to member Rebecca Buscemi of The Savvy Women's Business Solution for telling us about "WebMii~All the Web about Me". This site allows you to find all online public information about you (and other people)
and get your PeopleRank - your visibility score on the Web.
  • Ever try to capture an image of an entire Web page, one that you have to scroll up and down to see? Just go to Capture Full Page, enter the URL of the page you want, and it will give you a JPG of the page, which you can download.

  • When it comes to contracts it’s always better to have advice from counsel, but if you need a quick document to reference, check out DocStoc.com. It’s a repository of agreements, forms and such for small businesses that can be used for as little as $4.

  • Thanks to member Ellen McCaleb of Growth Chart Art for letting us know about Wowzio, a site that creates widgets that are designed to make your content more engaging and more enjoyable for readers to consume. Bloggers have told them that page views on their blog have gone up as much as 30% after installing their widgets.
  • Thanks to member Laura White-Ritchie, a Microbusiness Consultant & Graphic Designer, for telling us about TubePress. TubePress is an open source PHP library that displays gorgeous YouTube and Vimeo videos and galleries in your blog. It's available as a WordPress plugin or as a stand-alone PHP library.
  • RescueTime.com is an automated time tracking and management system. It tracks your time and how you spend it on and offline without data entry. This tool allows you to easily understand and optimize how you and your team spends their time and attention.
  • Eating slowly will help you feel fuller and decrease the calories you consume each meal, which leads to shedding the unwanted pounds!  It takes ~20 minutes for your head to tell your stomach it’s full, so aim for at least 20 minutes per meal. Thanks to Lisa Nelson RD of HeartHealthMadeEasy.com for this tip.
  • Thanks to Joy Randel of Dazzle Dog Delight for sharing information about UserTesting.com. This site offers low cost usability testing. Their services help you determine why users leave your website.
  • Rapleaf helps you better understand who your customers are (such as demographics, lifestyle and interests) so you can personalize communications and boost interactions online. Rapleaf tells you where your customers are online so you can optimize resources while discovering new engagement channels.
  • RippleEffect.net helps you get your customers to do the talking, sharing their comments on your website. They call it "rippling" for two reasons: 1. One ripple can have an effect for years to come; 2. Your website is only the starting place. Who knows how far it will go? Change the nature of your customer relationships with interactive social media marketing.

"I am so happy to write a recommendation for Traci. Her support group for mom entrepreneurs is SOLID. She gets the cream of the crop-- moms who run varied businesses of all types and discuss interesting topics. She tends to attract those mom entrepreneurs who are serious about their businesses and about learning more and continuing to expand and explore. I'm VERY MUCH enjoying being a part of the group. Traci is a solid leader who provides opportunities for us to network with each other and participate in advertising co-op opportunities. Thanks Traci!"
